Lecture: “Saint Paul face to face with the Law and the Grace”

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Peace of the Lord be with you.

In the whole atmosphere of the International Year of Saint Paul, the Apostle of all Nations and the beginning of programs of theological culture that our Archdiocese plans to organise, I would like to invite you at the lecture that will be given by Rev. Antoine Shbeir (PhD) entitled

“Saint Paul face to face with the Law and the Grace”

The lecture will take place in the Maronite Archbishopric in Acropolis, Nicosia on Friday 27th February 2009 at 6.00 pm

I extend my thanks to Father Shbeir and inform you that he will organise a program of spiritual exercises for the priests of our Archdiocese. I request all of you to join us through your prayers during our spiritual exercises and in turn we assure you of our own prayers for all of you.

Η Ειρήνη του Κυρίου να είναι μαζί σας.

Μέσα στην όλη ατμόσφαιρα του Διεθνές Έτους τον Αγίου Παύλου, του Αποστόλου των Εθνών, και της έναρξης των προγραμμάτων θεολογικής κουλτούρας που η Αρχιεπισκοπή μας προγραμματίζει να οργανώσει, θα ήθελα να σας προσκαλέσω στη διάλεξη που θα δώσει ο Αιδεσιμώτατος Αντουάν Σμπέιρ (PhD) με τίτλο,

«Ο Άγιος Παύλος Αντιμέτωπος με το Νόμο και τη Χάρη».

Η Διάλεξη θα γίνει στην Αρχιεπισκοπή Μαρωνιτών Κύπρου στην Ακρόπολη, την Παρασκευή 27 Φεβρουαρίου 2009 και ώρα 6μ.μ. .

Θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω τον Πατέρα Σμπέιρ και να αναφέρω ότι θα οργανώσει ένα πρόγραμμα πνευματικής άσκησης για τους ιερέις της Αρχιεπισκοπής μας. Σας καλώ όλους να μας συνοδεύσετε κατά τη διάρκεια της σιωπής μας αυτής μέσα από τις προσευχές σας και εμείς με τη σειρά μας θα προσευχηθούμε για όλους εσάς.

St. Maron in Anthoupoli

INVITATION to St.Maron's Feast

On the occasion of St Maron feast, the Father and the Patron of Our Maronite Church, HE Mons.Youssef Soueif, the Maronite Archbishop of Cyprus, after his visits to the villages and parishes, is inviting all the faithfull, clergy & layity of his Archdiocese to take part at the Mass which he will celebrate on Sunday 8th February 2009 at 10.00 am,at the cathedral Panagia ton Xariton, Paphos Gate in Nicosia.

Visit to St. Marina at Polemidia

Last Sunday 25th January, 2009 our Archbishop visited the church of St. Marina at Polemidia where he celebrated the Mass at 10.30 a.m. After that he had lunch at the Maronite Youth Club with all parishioners and the Mayor of Polemidia in a warm and family atmosphere.

In the afternoon, he started his pilgrimage from St. Charbel church with the relics of our Patron Saint accompanied by our priests and a good number of parishioners to Paphos, on the feast of St Paul’s conversion and the concluding day of prayers for the unity of all Christians.

In St. Kyriaki Church Kato Paphos, near the pillar of St Paul, he was welcomed by the latin priest as well as the Anglican Pastor and he celebrated the Mass in the presence of the Metropolitan of Paphos and the Superior of St. Neophytos Monastery and Bishop of Hitron.

The Mass was followed by a cocktail in the Anglican Church Hall where everybody had the possibility to meet and discuss with our Archbishop.
